Tether / Frontline Education
The next customer question won’t wait
You’ve introduced the product. Shared the details. Answered the questions.
Two weeks later, a customer asks which option is right for them. A new employee joins the store. Someone remembers the brand, but not enough to explain the difference between its products.
That’s where frontline product training has to keep working.
The presentation starts the conversation. What happens afterward deserves just as much attention.
Beyond the Presentation
Give people somewhere to return
Retail employees are learning about many products, often while serving customers. Another presentation adds information. It doesn’t necessarily make that information easier to find or use later.
For Stingers and HAVN, I developed and operated a frontline education system connecting short product courses, assessments, certification, recognition and follow-up. Employees registered individually, giving them somewhere to return beyond a single training session.
The invitation-led test across Massachusetts and Washington recorded 146 assessment submissions. That is evidence of participation, not a measured sales increase.
The Corollary
What remains after your team leaves?
If your product depends on someone else explaining it, the support you provide between visits deserves as much thought as the presentation itself.
Whether that person works behind a retail counter, in a showroom or on a hospitality team, the practical questions are similar: Where can I look this up? How do I know I’ve understood it? Who can help when I need more?
A useful education program makes those answers easy to find.
